  1. I vote for the astronaut standing on the moon.

  2. I like the ones listed, here is another one that I would add to them.  Migrant Mother by Dorothea Lange.

  3. I'd say the kiss picture taken after WWII ended (link is below).

  4. IWO JIMA –

    as above, nice in that it’s end-of-the-War scene

    (also there’s a Soviet counterpart –  Berlin);

    a few notes,

    geez I wish people would put names & not just links,

    so if someone knows the picture in question & not interested can skip the thing;

    photo by Niepce excuse-me, it’s historic because supposedly one of first-ever but otherwise nothing great or remarkable about it, primitive in fact;

    as for Afghani girl, I have the National Geographic, yike I always thought it more scary than anything else!;

    there are many other good examples –

    everything Karsh did, for example portrait of Churchill very famous.

    the afghan girl with the most amazing eyes :)

    whats really cool and inspirational about that photo though is how they found her at a refuge camp, and yet she looked flawless with hope and a little fear in her eyes but she knew she had to move on with her life.

    I think that ones pretty famous :)

    Pretty cool too!

    Oh I just though of another one that I love and have seen in a lot of places:

    The first photo being more famous, the second being more inspirational :)

  7. I think it would be the first successful photo taken by Neciphore Niepce called "View from the Window at Le Gras"

  8. my favorite {already mentioned} is wars end kiss..   hehe, i love the storey behind that....  :D

    the afghani girl is an awesome photo.. but not one that i would call inspirational...     altho,,    the woman from that photo is still alive, so i suppose that would make it an inspiration somewhat...
