What is the most fire resistant wood?

If one was to use wood as a fire wall, which species has the best fire rating while still having some strength and "usability".

  3. One of the strongest woods out there (believe it or not) actually comes from the Orange Tree. And yes, it's probably the hardest wood to burn due to it's density. The only problem with it (other than not having an adequate supply handy, lol) is that it is so hard that it's hard to cut and/or drive a nail through.

  4. Cumaru wood ( Dipteryx odorata) is incredibly fire resistant, having a Class A rating (the same as steel and concrete).

    It is an exotic extremely dense hardwood species native to South America also known as Brazilian Teak and Southern Chestnut, and very similar to teak in appearance.
