What is the most frequently used programming language and in what areas is this language used?

Java currently holds the title for most frequently used programming language. It's commonly used for business applications that do not need the speed and flexibility of C or C++, but, arguably, makes up for that with its copious libraries for speedy development

As someone in the private sector, I expected C# and Python to be far more popular than my source indicates

Not that I know the real answer but my educated guess is HTML for websites because it is the building blocks for a web page and with its ease of use and availability to anyone with programs as basic as notepad

I would guess that C or C++ is the most commonly used simply because their power, efficiency, and versatility is hard to match with other languages.
