The most efficient standard non-hybrid car would probably be the smart car!

The best Hybrid Car is the Toyota Prius, it used to be Honda, but they stopped making that model apparently......

Probably the Honda Insight followed by a Civic VX Hatchback, which is sad since they were first made 16 years ago.

Probably the Diesel VW Polo which gets close to 70mpg highway or the diesel Honda Civic which gets about that as well. Of course they have never been sold in the US...

Previous cars with impressive fuel economy are The honda crx HF hatch, the geo metro, and the Honda Insight (don't know why they don't make them anymore)

I really wish they had these cars in the States :(
