What is the most fuel efficient SUV?

I am hoping to get a new SUV soon and my Explorer only gets 14 mpg. Any help?

Not including hybrids the Ford Escape.

well, if you just want a crossover SUV, than a hybrid toyota higlander or the ford escape will be fine. They won't do off-roading as much as the explorer can.

check into the Hyundai Santa Fe and the Saturn VUE - both get decent gas mileage.. above 20mpg at least

Ford Escape, they have a hybrid version.  If you don't want hybrid pricing, I heard the CRV and RAV4 get good gas milage.

look into the hybrids.  I know there are a lot of them being made.  I think there is a hybrid Tahoe already out and I'm sure they will be coming out with more.

Also perhaps a diesel option, they can get double the gas mileage of gas powered vehicles.
