  1. 2000 Honda Insight (manual) 51 mpg

    2004 -2006 Toyota Prius 44 mpg

    2007 Honda Fit Sport (manual) 34 mpg


  2. 1984 Honda CRX.

    50+ mpg city. 60+ highway.

    Granted, some hybrids are now close to that...but considering you can by the CRX for under $2000....those new cars very quickly lose the argument.
