  1. in north america lacrosse. invented first nations. sport was used to settle disputes rather than warfare . also carried great religious status amongst elders . was used as the training method to bring young men into manhood . was used to create warriors through the physical conditiong . the games were actual wae excersises in stratagey , games lasted for up to 7 days . also only sport in world history that was given royal approval outside england . the city of new westminister was also given the right by queen victoria to rightfully call itself the royal city . first pro league sports history 1846. again the royal city of newtminster british colombia canada has won 62 major lacrosse titles , one sport . city of new york 51 combined with 5 sports . it is without a doubt north americas gift to the sports worls . under 19 world championships just completed , 12 different countries enterd for both men and women . the two latest countries , japan south korea. the state of texas as hard as this may to belive, in the last three years has had more novice players register for lacrosse than football. major universites have opened full ride scholarships , for both men and women . the sport has quietly exploded worlwide . number 2 sport checkoslavakia , rissia is starting major effort . stealing canasdian players with high six fiqure contracts . definatly the sport of the future swell as the past . thank you .

  4. The oldest sport with a lot of history is wrestling. In biblical times, it became the first sport with even the word, "Israel" means "wrestles with God". Over the years, it spread more to the Greeks, where they standardized it in Sparta with brutal rules of competition, which was adopted by Rome. This became Greco Roman. Many more styles develped overtime, and the first cage match was during the Civil War, where to guys wrestled what's known now as folkstyle in a fence of chicken wire.
