I heard that summer time is because it so hot. But me and 100 degree heat don't mix well.

  1. Week before and after Thanksgiving.

    Around Christmas time.

New Years Eve/Day is very crowded. They close down parts of the Strip.

  2. You can usually find good rates if you go between Thanksgiving and New Year as long as you are gone before December 29 or 30.  For instance, at Harrahs Las Vegas, they have a $45 room most weeknights in December. The same room goes for $225 on 12/30, and $285 in January during the CES (a big conference) is only $45 for most weeknights in December.

You can sign up for emailings from most hotels - that way you'll see what they offer, which is usually a low rate plus "spifs" for food, drink and slot play.  You'll be surprised that there are a lot of "pockets" of time throughout the year when hotel rooms are much cheaper.

You can sign up for all the Harrahs properties at  http://app.harrahs-marketing.com/enroll/...

    For the Luxor at https://secure02.mgm-mirage.com/Guestboo...

    for MGM at https://secure02.mgm-mirage.com/Guestboo...

The mailings arrive in plenty of time that you can still book the "advance" air fares.

  3. The most inexpensive time is when you win in the casino.

You may want to try and book during the holidays between Thanksgiving and Christmas as there are specials during that time.

  4. Flight are expensive in summer but cheaper in Winter. As far as expensive time goes, the price you pay for a hotel room depends on what else is happening in town that week or day. Vegas hotels prices changes from day to day and sometimes from hour to hour. Here are tips on how to get discount hotel rooms.

  5. Vegas's lull is in January after New Years' through March.  April starts the convention season/spring break and it starts to get busy!

  6. New Year's Eve and Super Bowl weekend - because they're hot times to be here. The cheapest times are summer because it's hot - temperature wise, and the two weeks before Christmas.

  7. Winter, but book way ahead like now if you want to be assured of hotel reservations in the more popular ones for the Turkey Day to New Year's spots.  Both Reno and Vegas can get a little pricier if you don't lock in your rates in advance.  As for summer, it's only triple digits outside as like our desert sisters AZ and parts of CA, AC is employed by businesses and residents alike.  If you feel flaky or expect to be out in the high temps more than the momentary walk from one casino to another, get yourself some salt pills and pop one.  Don't run around and exhaust yourself, especially in the higher elevations in Northern Nevada or microwave temps to the South.  Enjoy your visit and you will more than likely want to return...good luck if you enjoy gaming as a civilized form of  adult entertainment.
