You can generally tell what time of day an owl hunts during by the colour of its eyes.  If the eyes are yellow, it will be during the day, orange means sunrise, sunset, and black eyes, or dark brown, is at night.  Very weird, but I don't think it's as strict as that anyway.

*Permanent marker on appliances/counter tops (like store receipt) rubbing alcohol on paper towel.

*Use Empty toilet paper roll to store appliance cords,It keeps them neat  and  you can write on the roll what appliance it belongs to.

*For icy door steps in freezing temperatures: get warm water and put Dawn dish washing liquid in it. Pour it all over the steps. They shouldnt refreeze.
