  1. Not so much a fish (Amphibian), but Axolotls are wonderful. If you do your research before buying them and care for them properly they can live a long time, 10 to 15 years!!

They're not expensive to buy, and your basic tank set up would cost around $100.

Axolotls come in a huge range of colours, and they're gorgeous!

  2. I would have to go with Discus.  Mine will eat from my hand (not Goldfish), and whenever I do a water change or other maintenance, expecting food, they bite my hand and arm (it hurts more than you'd think).  In my opinion, it is VERY tough to top their colors, and combined with the personality (though not the size or formidability) of an Oscar, I would have to say their EXTREMELY rewarding... especially if they breed... then there's a monetary reward too... ;^]

  3. Dojo loaches sit on the bottom of the tank and watch you and have some personality and are not mean to other fish.

  4. snowflake eels and lion fish. they are very cool. and you can train your eel to eat out of your hand.

  5. ghost shrimp?

  6. personality wise..an Oscar.

They will eat goldfish out of your hand.

I enjoyed mine for 8 yrs..

  7. Fancy goldfish.  I love my fantails.  I first purchased them as 1/2 inch long babies and they're both an impressive 6 inches long now (not including tail) at four years old. Both have gone through various color changes in their lifetimes. My fish like to be hand fed, and will nudge my arm in a friendly way during water changes.  Goldfish also have many other entertaining behaviors: digging, rearranging tank ornaments, napping side-by-side, etc.

  8. Oscar Ive Only Had Myn For About A Month Now And I Love Him He Had 3 Other Tank Mates All Oscars But Sadly The First One Was Sick When I Got It And The Second Jumped Out And Dried Up I Cryed SOOOOOOO Much But He Has A Small Convit And A Zebra Somthing There All About 3" Each Im 14 Starting Up 4 Tanks 1 With Mollies Guppies And Cory 1 With 2 Kribs 1 With GoldFish  ....... Oscars Have The Best Personality's EVER

  9. Lace Catfish

~Why~ They arn't typically seen, or at least I've only seen of maybe 10 people on here and youtube that own them, verses say tetras and such. Also, Marshmellow (mine), is full grown and I can't say anything about them when they are small, I bought mine grown, but he is soo much fun to watch (swims up one wall then swims upside down across the tank and down the other wall, also his "spot" is all over a piece of driftwood, he will literally lay on his side in the little nooks and crannies, and he loves the bubble curtain he is constantly in it... and he is gorgeous, he is dark grey with black spots and the most amazing fins!! I would definately suggest without a doubt lace catfish!!!

Also I agree with the Ghost Shrimp because they are soo amusing to watch walk across the bottom, climb up the wall, swim, and eat, and you can see right thru them!!
