  1. My guess it is a barber shop quartet of Blue Whales.

    Remember, the tongue of a Blue Whale weighs as much as a full grown elephant so four of them could do it.

  2. Keep in mind when you listen to the "bloop" signal, or any of those weird ocean acoustic signals, what you are hearing is not what it sounded like in the ocean.  The true acoustic frequency was below the audible range of human hearing.  

    At that range, it was probably seismic, but nobody really knows for sure.  What it sounds like to me is bubbles gurgling in pipes.  <shrug>
