What is the most lost you have ever been?

All of us sometimes get lost while driving. Then we turn around and eventually find our way to where we are going. What is the most lost you have ever gotten driving? How many miles/kilometers did you drive in the wrong direction?

I think it would be interesting to hear people´s stories about getting lost.
