I would really instead think of what one would enjoy doing on a daily basis for many years to come and consider the salary second :)  They say 'if you love what you do, you'll never have to work a day in your life' -- to find a career that one would do for free.

Some well paying jobs can include computer software engineers, financial analyst.  Going with one's passion is what can really help a person to not feel stuck in a rut regardless of pay.  Some of the highest paid executives decided to go back to school to become a teacher and take a pay cut but feel that the job satisfaction is worth more than the paycheck ;)
