What is the most powerful artform? Singing, dancing, etc?

I say singing because you can feel what the singer is going through.

They can all be very powerful, depends on the performer and the message being sent.

Singing has the potential to reach more people.

While it's a "given" that a blind man will be able to better appreciate singing, and a deaf man will apreciate dance more, dance cannot really be appreciated via recordings, or played on the radio, etc.

Dance MUST be seen to evoke emotions...while singing can evoke emotions whether appreciated "live" or via a recording, and/or the radio.

Music manipulates my emotions more than anything else. Of course, I'm a singer so it would. I think that's the most powerful art form though. It's someone audibly expressing themselves powerfully. It's just wonderful.

writing...there is no better art form...because it reaches many more people, all over the world in their language...it can also be read again and again...it's not just seen or heard once...

(and writing doesn't really change with the times, like music and dancing...it spans time..)

Painting.  It lasts forever and eveyone will take what they need from it.  Whereas other art forms almost "tell" the person what to think.

I'm partial to literature.  I know a picture is worth a 1000 words, but books have more words than that.   It is not your standard definition of art, but I think literature contributes the most to culture, and the measure of any culture is its art.  That and the way they treat other animals.

It depends on what emotion or story it is getting across. To me every art form is just as powerful as the next, they all have the power to dig deep inside of our souls and get to our emotions. Usually what makes me cry is music and lyrics. Even if it's just music with no words. it can make me cry or make me feel like dancing. The song Adam's Song by Blink 182 makes me cry every time, but so do many classical music pieces. I cannot help but dance when listening to techno or tap by feet when listening to rock. Music has the power to move me to pretty much any emotion, but still every artform is equally as powerful.

Sometimes very romantic  or sad paintings make me cry. Thomas Kinkade has the uncanny ability to put into me a sense of longing and charm with his art work.; Seeing a very devoted martial artist makes put much awe into me as does dancing. Those are just some examples.
