  1. till now 4GB ram is the most a laptop can handle..

  2. Try going here -

    http://crucial.com/uk/      (leave out the UK part if not in UK)

    Click on Scan My System, it will use a tool to scan your laptop and tell you what your laptop can use, or just select make and model from the drop down lists there.

    It depends on the laptop, with some it is 1GB, with some it is 2GB and some 4GB but the site above will tell you what your options are.

    hope this helps.

  3. 4 GB i guess Not so sure Tho..

  4. It depends upon the BIOS, the number of slots on the motherboard, and the operating system.

    BIOS=varies by motherboard

    slots=varies by motherboard

    OS=4GB for 32bit, too much to matter for 64 bit.

  5. Most laptops today can handle 4GBs of ram (2 sticks x 2 GB eahc)

    however, unless you're using a 64-bit OS, you will only be able to use ~3GB. A 32-bit OS (windows XP, most copies of vista, some copies of linux etc.) can address a maximum of 4 GB of memory. Every byte in your computer has an address that lets the computer know where it's saved various information. But your bios reserves certain memory addresses for things besides RAM, meaning that a section of your 4GB of ram is effectively ignored/not seen by the OS and you're left with ~3 GB

  6. 4gb of RAM i think
