  1. searay gets my vote

  2. Wellcraft

  3. i really like MFG's

  4. I would say hatteras or viking.

  5. Well first off - it is pretty rare that you hear about any new boats HULL's having reliability issue - and really that is the boat.  No matter if you buy a Cobalt or a Bayliner - most will have the same mercruiser engine - so really reliability is more of an engine issue then a boat issue.  If you were to ask me what is the most reliable, simple, maintenance free engine - I would say it is a no brainer - either a honda or yamaha 4 stroke outboard.  Outboards avoid things like bellows, gall bearings, wholes in your boat... etc.  In my opinion much easier to work on, maintain, replace if needed.  As far as the best quality boat in that size range - it would depend on what you are looking for (bowrider, center console, deck boat, sport boat, etc) I think a lot of people would say Boston Whaler - but they only come with Merc's (which are not the best engines) Cobalt is a high end name, Sea Ray's are great boats but have that same issue (merc's only) so I would not go with them if reliability is my number on concern.  Grady White are great, Parker, (if your looking at center consoles and walk arounds) for bowriders, I would say it really does not matter too much - any new boat you put a yamaha or honda engine on is going to be reliable.

  6. My Vote goes to Sea Ray and Well Craft for comfort and engine reliability, Mostly in the cuddy Cabin Design.

hope you were ready for 20 diferent answer,s.

  7. I would say Robalo because of their ten year warranty.  Which is impresive for a boat whom is relatively cheap, when bought used.  If interested I have one for sale.  Im in Orlando, Florida.  1999 Robalo 2120

  8. I've been in the business for over 20 years and can tell you that I absolutely love selling Sea Ray boats rather than any other boat manufacturer. The build quality, the ride, performance and attention to detail make Sea Ray's unbeatable. Plus, they're powered by MerCruiser sterndrives, and you can't go wrong there. Don't be afraid of looking into Sea Ray's that are 10 to 12 years old..they hold their value very well and structurally hold up very well, especially if it's freshwater. They're the best for a reason!!

  9. The best pleasure boat is no longer manufactured, it was Winner.

The best 20 ft. bass boat is Bullet.

  10. What kind of boat? fishing, leisure, sport............? Used or new?  The obvious answer for me is in a shamrock.  Shamrock makes a 22 footer which may be too big for you, but is fairly close to 20 feet. Plus, it's pretty plain and more of a fishing geared boat.  No wood (can someone please tell me why people think wood accents are a good idea on something that sees a lot of sun and a lot of water?), not much vinyl, no carpet, etc.....basically not too much of anything that will eventually wear or need to be fixed or replaced.  MOST IMPORTANTLY it's offered with a Yanmar inboard.  It will last much longer than gas engines, and since it's an inboard, you don't have to worry about ruining the lower unit and part of the keel serves to protect the prop.  An inboard has LESS moving parts and is a better balanced boat since the engine sits in the middles.  The Yanmar diesel engine will get twice the gas mileage of a gas outboard and that is not an exaggeration.  Furthermore, Yanmar is by far the longest lasting engine.  It also has freshwater cooling, so no winterizing of the motor needed, no clogged impellers, more cooling reliability, etc.  I have done research and talked to fellow boaters and this is the only boat that makes any sense to me.  Volvo and mercruiser engines are junk.  Honda outboards are great and reliable, but cost an arm and a leg and still guzzle gas like an outboard, not to mention that wonderful lower unit hanging in the water is a disaster waiting to happen-grounding, hitting submerged trees and other objects.  Lower units can cost up to a 1000.00 or more to replace.  Whatever your choice, please do not buy a very old used boat.  A 20 year old boat to me is worth as much to me as a 20 year old car......nothing.  Let someone else pay a couple of grand to inherit that guy's problem.  Hope I didn't ramble too much and good luck to you and your search.

  11. Boston whalers

    Gradey White

    Pro Line

  12. for boat hulls,Searay. engines Mercruiser.
