What is the most reputable place to donate in the US?

I always donate my stuff to the Salvation Army. I also donate to many environmental groups like Word Wildlife Federation, Sierra Club, National Wildlife Federation, sometimes towards the end of the year, they triple a donation. Planned Parenthood has & another one I can't remember, but I love when they do that! But, I think The Salvation Army needs money the most.

Depends what you hope to accomplish with your donation. Certainly I would compare what  percentage of your donation goes toward soliciting other donations.

Myself, I'd find a charity in my own town and donate to them. The town I used to live in had a charity that was a guy who figured out ways to help people having medical emergencies.
