  1. Somewhere not in the UK. sorry, but it's true. u need something exciting and different.

  2. I agree, the lake district is beautiful. Somewhere like York can be quite romantic if your into City breaks though...

  3. Durdle Door, Lulworth Cove and Corfe Castle (Dorset)

Sandwood Bay (Scotland)......plus most of the lochs and loads of the coastline

    Whitby Abbey

    Beeston Castle

Stonehenge (if you can find a time of day to go without the crowds, or if you just walked near there as the sun sets, it would be lovely).

Lindisfarne Island (after the tide comes in and cuts off the causway)

    Witley Court in Worcester

Hilbre Island in Wirral (again, if you can stay while the tide comes in, it is quite cool)

so many places ..........I could go on and on!

  4. I have recently come back from a gorgeous romantic break with my husband and was excited to see another answerer has also recommended the beautiful little village we stayed in.

The village is called Lerryn, and is the most lovely place we have ever seen.  it is in the south east area of Cornwall and has good access to other area's of interest being Polruan, which is also really pretty, and quaint, Polperro which is gorgeous, but a little crowded for our liking and the eden project which is interesting, and worth a visit.

We were also looking for somewhere special to stay for a break away from our demanding special needs 4 year old, and took the advice of a lady who posts regularly about this area of cornwall, and thought we would give it a try. we were not disappointed, and had the most relaxing gorgeous stay in this very special little village that has no street lights, no fancy trappings, and no rowdy tourists, just peace and tranquility, and lots of wildlife, and just one shop, and a lovely little village pub, which was really friendly and made us really welcome.

I would highly reccommend Lerryn to anyone who wants a romantic peaceful setting, we loved it so much we have booked another stay in September, and can't wait to go back to this little corner of heaven.

If "er indoors" lives in Lerryn, I am very very jealous, as she is the luckiest person in the world. Perhaps I will meet her when we visit in September.

  5. The North Antrim Coast in Northern Ireland. The pace is slower and the scenery is fantastic. Lots of fantastic restaurants and romantic walks.

  6. Almost definatley the LAKE DISTRICT! It's beautful! or the Cotswold...

  7. The Bullring Birmingham.

  8. The gorgeous cottage I look after in a beautiful Cornish fishing village. It looks like England did 150 years ago, and you can either stay home and look over the picturesque harbour all day, or travel around the gorgeous Cornish countryside. We have many honeymooners stay, and they are never disappointed with their destination, or accommodation.

We also look after this cottage in the gorgeous village we live  in. The village inspired Kenneth Grahan to write "wind in the willows" and is truly beautiful. We'd love to see you!!

EDIT.... Rileymom. I would love to say hello when you next visit. If the weather is good you can normally find me sitting by the "stepping stones" that cross the river, with my big black dog, I'll take you on my favourite walk to St Winnow (2 mile easy walk through the woods) and we'll have a cream tea at "Angies" a lovely little cafe overlooking the lovely church, and river. I am thrilled you are returning for another visit, but not surprised, as most people do!!  P.S. I used to be "Maid in Cornwall" but like to change my avator every now and again. It was very likely my postings you were inspired by!!!

EDIT ...Tizent, I loved your answer. I was born in Birmingham, so know, and love the Bullring, but I don't know about it being a "romantic" place though......   Lol!!

  9. Royal East Thatcham

  10. Bridlington
