It's difficult to summarise for the whole of Europe as even within a small country depending on where you live the typical kind of crimes are very different (e.g. a big city vs a small rural village

THe most serious crime of course is murder, but then it is also the least common comparatively.

The most common crime generally is petty theft e.g. pick pocketing, bag snatching, thefts from cars etc.
