Nooo, just anything with Microsoft in it.

Since I took out my Microsoft Malware, I saw NO more virusses, No more malware, and started to really enjoy myself.

Isn't that a big surprise? :))

Never go searching for 'download antivirus antispyware rootkit spybot protection settings mcafee firewall' or anything like that. Log into Limewire, frostwire, gtkgnutella, shareaza, bittorrent, Firefox, Opera - no problems. Surf crackwarezporn as much as U like, no problem.

Only one malware to remove, M$.

Try something different, try something better, give me the beans.

if you have truble with viruses with your comp or malware Auto clave it 3 times then it will be gone

Well, I heard about this Olympic torch virus... no, just kidding.

A lot depends on what you are using the computer for. A network worm is a disastrous on a corporate network but much less dangerous on the average home computer. Some of the modern bots probably contain the most threats in one package so I would plump for current version Storm or Kraken or Srizbi.

You don't really want to catch any of them though

The answer has to be CIH, also known as Chernobyl or Spacefiller unless anyone else knows of another virus that can kill motherboards... can't get much more serious than that!

Firmware root kits will be one to watch in the future but at the time being they are 'proof of concept' rather than real threats &, hopefully the Anti-virus companies will get there act together before they do become a threat!

Any of the many variants of the virut viruses.This virus is polymorphic and destroys exe files.Once on your system any program that is executed is infected.Its a no hoper.Also any rootkit, these hide malware, most people never scan for rootkits,and some are so embedded,its impossible to remove them,even if you find them.

Some might think it would be one that corrupts your computer, but

in my opinion it is one such as the recent XP Antivirus 2008

or VISTA Antivirus 2009, or one of it's many aliases.

Any trojan that steals passwords or program as above that steals your identity, passwords, or scams you is the most detrimental of all.

The solution to this is to always have Avast running,

Run Ad-Aware twice a week, and don't download anything from any untrusted source.  Just be very careful.

If you do have problems, perform a system restore as soon as possible.

START > Programs > Accessories > System Tools >

System Restore > follow the prompts and restore to a date prior to the problem.

Practically completely invisible as they hide in the firmware for a device e.g. a cd-rom.

This firmware is never checked for code integrity.

You can integrate a trojan or keylogger into the rootkit, so every time you press a key on your keyboard it is intervepted and recorded.

Think about it:

Credit card numbers, passwords for social networking sites all become available to the attacker. They can steal your money and indentity.

Apart from the 'Mother in Law' virus there are too many to name, more recent malware infections are removing Desktop Wallpapers, removing Icons, removing Restore Points etc.

Keyloggers, botnets, trojans, malicious codecs, all have different ways of manipulating users machines, often without the user being aware that they have a problem until it is too late.

Simple safety precautions and educating users can help to avoid becoming infected, teaching them how to remove infections safely without passing them on to others, and how to spot the tell-tale signs.
