  1. LECA ( = Light Expanded Clay Aggregate ) is made of greasy, plastic clay of the montmorillonitic/illitic type. The calcium and magnesium content (in the form of oxides) should be less than 6%.

    A high iron content in the form of Fe2O3 is desirable.
