What is the most unusual sports accident you ever heard?

Every sport has its "occupational" hazard .

I heard of a guy who broke a finger playing "Rock-paper-scissors"! Now how ridiculous is that? How to explain to your friends? What freaky sports accident can you recall?

n.b. I guess it takes quite the leap of imagination to consider Rock Paper Scissors a 'sport'.

My friend got stitches and a black eye playing tennis.  Here's what happened.  It was really hot and sunny that day, so the ball was hard to see, and his hands were presumably sweaty.  But he tossed the ball up to serve it, and missed completely.  On his follow through, the racket slipped out of his hand, bounced off the court and went straight up into his eye.  He had to hold up his match for about a half hour while getting stitches on the court.
