  1. The term "relaxed eclectic " matches our style.

We use cheap and free resources.

  2. The nearest match for us is unschooling.

  3. We have always had a pick and choose curriculum but we are going classical this year.

  4. Hard question to answer...but we're eclectic.  We use a bit of everything, as my son needs a different approach for different subjects.

  5. We use a classical approach.

I don't think there is a "most used" because we all do what is best for our families. The beauty of home school is that we can try different things until we find what works. If one method doesn't work you can try another.

  6. The most used method is the one that works best for the child.  For some families, this means using different methods for different kids.

    We unschool.

  7. We're...kinda unschooling. I'm not really sure what you'd call it, but unschooling seems like the closest match. See, almost everything I do, I do by choice, even if I am still doing book work now and then and test prep and the like. I have a HUGE say in what resources, books, curriculum, software, and other materials are used and how we obtain them. In fact, one of my yearly "projects" is to set a budget and research different curriculum choices, decide what subjects I want or need to study, and figure out what to buy or borrow and where to find it. I of course run all of this by mom, but she acts as more of a guide than anaything else, and we work as a team, running things by eachother, planning things together, talking over how lessons and assignments should go anad how to overcome certain barriers and so on. I have as much say in my education as she does, so unschooling (student-directed) is the closest thing I can think of to what we do.
