  1. london underground by fair

  2. i know clapham junction is britains busiest train station, it says it on the signs there!

  3. The busiest part of the British Rail Network is in the South East, in British Rail days this was called Network South East, but it is now under 4 routes called Anglia, Kent Sussex & the Wessex.

I believe that London Liverpool street has twice the amount of people traveling through it than Heathrow and Kings Cross has about 52 million passengers passing through a year. As some other people have said Clapham Junction is the busiest station in Europe having around about one passenger train passing through every 3 seconds during rush hour. This is controlled by Victoria signal box, which is at the Eastern end of Clapham Station, but kept its name from the days it was situated at Victoria & it controls the lines as far as Windmill Bridge Junction outside Croyden, where the Threebridges signal Box (Based in Gatwick) then control the line. Victoria Box also controls the lines from London Black Friars out as far as Swanley & Sevenoaks where the Ashford Signal Box take control.

In the railway the 4 routes fall under the control of the South Eastern Teritory.

I hope this helps. (used to work for this region hence know a bit about it all & if you need further info I may still be able to find out some more for you so contact me via e-mail.)

  4. London to Edinburgh line carries a lot of trains

  5. The Section of the Bricklayers Arms to Spa Road area of South London on the Portsmouth Mainline, Atlantic, Hither Green and Deptford Branchlines must be one of the buiseist sections of the network with a train every few seconds during the peak using one of the tracks to get into the London Bridge Bottleneck to either Terminate at London Bridge Low Level, transit to the High Level to go to Charing Cross, Cannon Street, Blackfriars or onwards to the Thameslink Lines. Often if there is a problem in London Bridge, it has taken 30mins+ to travel the few miles around Bermondsey Junction onto Spa Road.

Clapham Junction is the Buisiest Junction Station for trains picking up and setting down as it covers Southern, South West and Silverlink Services as well as allowing the Gatwick Express through services.

The area North of London does not come anywhere near to the weight of traffic serving the south london lines.

    Hope this helps.

  6. London Underground has over three million users a day, and over a billion journeys were made in 2006. That's pretty darned busy.

  7. The busiest junction in the UK is "Norwood junction/Clapham junction" south London, the busiest commuter lines are those that go from south east into London and the busiest mainline goes out of Euston to the north west.....

  8. Probably Birmingham New Street (it's the hub to everywhere), or London Euston or King's cross

  9. Aberdeen to Penzance. Runs through Manchester, Liverpool etc. And is always packed
