  1. Gaboon viper is the most dangerous venomous snake overall, but I'm not sure if it goes in sea. To make things worse, the Gaboon viper is also one of the most aggressive snakes.

  2. Toxicity isn't just a function of potency, it's also a function of dose. Some snakes produce more toxic venom, some produce less toxic venom but more of it. Either way if one bites you -- you have a problem.

  3. The most venomous snake in the world is the Inland Taipan also known as the Fierce Snake of Australia. It contains enough venom to kill 100 humans.

To answer your other question, the most venomous sea snake is the Faint banded Sea snake. It's not really considered a dangerous snake because of its docile nature, but it is still the most venomous sea snake.

To all those people saying the Black Mamba: It's only one of the largest venomous snake, not the most venomous.

  4. Well, the Black Mamba is the most leathal snake on earth. It was named the Black Mamba because of the black mouth it presents you with if threatened! The most dangerous snake in the ocean is the African Coral Snake.

  5. It's funny that people always answer with black mamba every time this question is asked. Well, black mambas do not have the strongest venom of any snake...that honor belongs to the inland taipan. And black mambas don't kill the most people of any snake...that would be Russell's vipers of Asia and saw-scaled vipers of Africa, as well as some Asiatic cobras such as king cobras. Black mambas are the fastest snake in the world, however, and the second longest venomous snake in the world, capable of growing to 14 feet in length, so there's no denying that they are very dangerous.

  6. As stated, the Inland Taipan is considered the most venomous species of snake.  The Black Mamba, while quite venomous does not come close although they tend to be quite aggressive.  I believe they account for more bites than the Taipan and so many consider them to be more venomous because of that.

  7. i work with all snake its the black mamba people think its the inland saipian or the sea snake or cobra but its not on accident i put a black mamba in with five pythons not one python lived

  8. nintendo dude the black mamba is not the larges venomous snake either thats the king cobra.  the inland taipan is the most venomous but it also has never caused a death that has been recorded because not many people are around the area they live..

  11. Most venomous is on land is the Inland Taipan, the Saw Scaled Vipers kills the most people each year.  The Hook nosed sea snake in the Ocean is the most venomous with the Dubois reef snake close.  You asked which snake is the most dangerous to work with, now this is an entirely different question.  I have worked with venomous snakes quite a bit and know many many herpetologists who work with venomous snakes in private and zoo collections and the top three snakes that make us herpetologist the most uncomfortable to work with are Bushmaster's, Fer de lance, and large Southern Timber Rattler;sometimes called Canebrake's.
