  1. Hearns Ko of Pipino Cuevas or his Ko of Duran.

  2. My friend I have seen several vicious knockouts.  The Suza Q right hand that Marciano hit Walcott with in the 13th round may be the most famous of them all.  Sugar Ray Robinson landed a perfect left hook to the jaw of Gene Fullmer ending their fight.  Fullmer to this day still doesn't remember the punch.  Thomas Hearns landed a vicious right hand that put Roberto Duran asleep on the canvas so it is difficult to name one.  I have to say that since I've been watching boxing that the shot that Bob Foster hit Mike Quarry with was probably the most vicious one punch knockout I've ever watched leaving Quarry completely knocked out cold on the canvas with his foot quivering.  Good question sir, thanks.

  3. In Recent Momeroy it had to be: Edison Miranda vs David Banks on Espn Friday night fights and i cant wait to see if he can avenge his loss against Arthur Abraham on June 21st.

But the most impressive was Castillo Vs Corrales

  4. I agree. I remember that. His fights were so short.... just bam. We'd be drinking from the keg. Turn the TV on for five minutes, then go back to drinking.

  5. Great question Erick! As far as I'm concerned I will never forget the almost horrifyingly magestic knockout that Evander Holyfield layed on Top contender Aldison Rodrigues in the hot Nevada summer of 1989.

The first round that was highlighted by Holyfield's smooth boxing and circling footwork, but things were about to get rough

In the second round Rodrigues decided that he was going to go all out for the many hometown supporters that had come out to cheer him.

Rod unloaded a hard right hand over top that got Evander's attention. The crowd ooood and aaaaaad. This then galvanized rod to launch an all out onslaught on the Real Deal.

Rod was fighting like a mad bull! He decided to go for it!

In a moment almost quietly frozen in time Holyfield deftly angled his perfectly sculpted body to parry the assault.

Then Evander efortlessly chopped forth with his own overhand right just in time to catch Rod totally commited.

This blow was the Legendary Holyfield COUNTERPUNCH!

A similiar awesome shot would take Buster Douglas's title a year later but tonight this nuke looked like it might take even more off Rodrigues!

At first Rod's head began to spin like Linda Blair in the Exorcist. Then a frozen stiff Adilson fell staight backwards as if he were a tipped ice sculpture! Over 220 pounds came crashing down in dead weight with such force that the Tahoe pine trees may still be shaking! Rod's head SLAMMED the canvas so hard that his head kept bouncing even while his body lay still and his eyes closed shut!

Rodrigues was sleeping like a corpse. But then it really got creepy!

Looking very much like a dying spider that you spray with Raid Adilson's left arm began to slowly contort STIFFLY across his body and now he really had the creepy look of a dead spider!

I have followed boxing all of my life and nothing ever had fazed me. And I have seen every vicious knockout from Mercer's slaughtering of Morrison to Cooney's decapitation of Norton. But on this night I as a child actually stood up out of my chair praying for this man to be alright. I thought at best he would have been permanantly paralyzed. And at worst I THOUGHT HE MIGHT BE DEAD quite frankly.

It all happened so fast like an F5 TORNADO. Thankfully I was VERY HAPPY to learn later on that he was alright. Adilson's guardian angels certainly EARNED their wings THAT NIGHT!

A primed Evander Holyfield was one SCARY ATHLETE!

  6. joe frazier vs george foreman foreman bounced frazier around the ring like a basketball

  7. well for me the vicious knock out in real life is the knock out my friends had on a street fight. It was amazing, both of them got hit on the face at the same time, and they were flying out of the ring.

  8. Live on TV it was Mike Weaver Ko over Big John Tate. Tate flopped on the canvas like a fish in convulsions.

On film it was the greatest KO of all-time:

Marciano over Walcott. Watching Walcott's head distort like some sort of alien being was actually quite disturbing.

  9. Me kicking an opponent in the face during a competition.  I watched his eyes roll back into his head as he fell backwards, and his head bouncing off of the ground.  (it was weird, all in slow motion)

We had no ice, so we had some friends get cans of soda out of the machine and put them on his face.  He was out for about 3 minutes.

  10. julian jackson kayoing herol graham in 1990 for the vacant wbc middleweight belt.....graham (who was easily winning the fight up to that point) was out before he hit the canvas.

  12. ray leonard v dave boy green...knocked him oyt with a left hook and whilst still standing landed a ko right cross and an evil left hook..then his head bounced off the canvas like a basketball..4 kos in one combo his head must still be thumping
