what is the most wattage of extractor fan that i can fit of my bathroom light circuit...

i have bought a 4 inch fan that is rated at 20w but im going to take it back and buy a 6 inch one...that is rated at 28 w

will it be ok ?????

  1. The current is watts divided by voltage, assuming that you are in the US, 28/120=about 1/4amps and you will not have a problem doing this. Are you sure it is only 28 watts? You could probably run a larger wattage fan up to250 watts with no problem.


  2. As the light in your bathroom is probably 60w and maybe a 100w, 28w will be no problem at all in the UK.

    As with all electrical work, if you are in any doubt about wiring it in, get a qualified electrician, but it's a very simple DIY job.
