  1. 8 years. 2 terms.

  2. 10 years.

If the President dies with less than half of his term remaining it does not "count" as a term for the vice President and the Vice President could then serve two terms of his own.  If he dies with MORE than half his term remaining the vice president could finish that term and have one more.

  3. 10 years.

He can serve 2 years of a term if a President dies or leaves office then be elected for 2 terms on his own.   If he serves even ONE DAY more than 2 years of a term for a President who dies or leaves office,  he can only serve 1 more term.

  4. the correct answer is ten- if the president before them died with less than half of his term remaining.  (thus up to 2 years here).  One can only be elected to and serve 2 terms of 4 years each (8 years here) for a grand total of ten.  The only president to exceed this number was FDR who was elected to 4 terms and died during the last term.  After his death, the twenty second amendment passed in 1951 limited the president to two elected terms.  The reasons FDR's predecessors did not exceed this was because they were following precedent set by Washington.

  5. Two four years terms. We have only has a hand fully how have accomplished that. Each one has run in to some kind of controversy in their second term too. I think we should have a six year term for the Presidency just that of the US Senators. That way they will have one year two campaign for office and one year two campaign for the successor and four full years to govern.

  6. 8 years as president

  7. Two terms of up to 8 years except under special consideration during times of war.

    Oh, oh!

  8. Actually the answer is 10.  If the vice president assumes office and serves no more than 2 years of the former president's term, then he/she can still serve 2 complete 4-year terms.  Lyndon Johnson could have served more than 8 years had he chosen to run again.

  9. 8
