  6. you mean the fairway?  I always land in the rough so I dont know if the fairway is mowed.

  7. The fairway. However the rough also is usually mowed, just to a different length. On better golf courses, there may be three or four lengths of mowing. On my courses, they mow under the trees, which obviously is not a good place to be.

    All that said, in golf rules, you may see the term "through the green." That includes the entire area of the hole (indeed, the course) except the teeing ground, and putting green and hazards.
