  4. Well, grasses at the beach are usually in the dune which is still considered part of the shore.  there can be one dune, or more then one when the dune dips down and then rises up again before it enters the area away from the shore.  the grasses you seen in the dune help keep erosion at bay.

    the dune line is the area when the shore mets what is considered the non shore.
