What is the name of a number square?

i dont remember what its called, but it has room for 16 of the squares but only 15 squares. you have to put them in numerical order. They also have some that are 3 by 3 with pictures on them. Please let me know :] thanks!

I think you are talking about the little games with movable pieces, set into a square, and you can move the pieces around so that you can solve the puzzle and form the correct picture or the correct order for the pieces.  I have not ever heard a specific name for them - just puzzles.
