  1. Scotland is a country and therefore does not have a Duke. Dukes are of cities or counties - York, Cornwall.

Edinburgh is a city in Scotland but there is no such thing as a Duke of Scotland.

  2. Do you mean Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh?  If so, he was born Prince Philippos of Greece in 1921.  Upon marrying Princess Elizabeth, Philip assumed an Anglicized form of his mother's maiden name, taking the surname Mountbatten (for Battenberg).  At that time, George VI awarded him with the title Duke of Edinburgh.

  3. Are you asking who was ruler of Scotland when Elizabeth I was Queen of England?  For the first few years of Elizabeth's reign, Scotland also had a Queen, Mary Queen of Scots.  When Mary was deposed (because of her marital carryings-on), her infant son became King James VI.  As the great-grandson of  Elizabeth's oldest aunt, James was also next in line for the English throne, and on Elizabeth's death he became King James I of England as well.

  4. the queen is actually queen of scotland also so that is that bit and prince phillip was born prince phiilipos of greece
