What is the name of the big park in Madrid Spain?

I hear some people call it "El Parque del Buen Retiro" and others simply "El Retiro" so I was wondering which one was correct.

The official name is El Parque del Buen Retiro but like everything else, it has been shortened to El Retiro...

I was actually walking in it last Sunday and it is one of the most beautiful parks I have ever seen with lots of statues, ponds, magnificent trees

wow you just brought back memories. It's called El Retiro..last time I was there, they had a lake where we could feed ducks..benches, where we would sit and eat tons of pipas, (sunflower seeds) and trails we could walk for hours..I do love Madrid, its people and its culture.
