Question:

What is the name of the black man, who represent his country in the olympics but didnt know how to swim?

am not sure if it was on the athenas or the sydney olimpics, when a black man was representing his country in the swimming category and he barelly know how to swim, but he finished the race. I will like to know his name, it was a very inspirational and courageous

  2. Eric Moussambani, of Equatorial Guinea swam the 100 meter free in just under 2:00 at Sydney in a heat by himself after the other two competitors were disqualified for false starts. He received a standing ovation from the crowd.

Eric Moussambani, represented his country Equatorial Guinea, and experiened brief international fame at the 2000 Sydney Olympics when he swam his heat of the 100m freestyle in 1:52.72 and won, because the two other competitors were disqualified for taking false starts. He was nicknamed Eric the Eel by the media, he also set the record for Equatorial Guinea in that race.

    Yes he was extremely courageous and incredibly inspirational to swim in the olympics!! Good on him, and what an interesting question!
