What is the name of the bridge that fell apart due to thermal expansion? It had wave like features before fall

It was in the 1950's or 60's. There is a video of the bridge showing some wave like behaviors before falling. I believe it was somewhere in the middle of the USA. It was also featured in a radio/ or car commercial.

  2. It was out in Seattle or somewhere.  It may have been the Tacoma Narrows bridge.  And I thought it was a wind problem, like the bridge was built exactly to the harmonic vibration of a constant 45mph wind because they didn't think that would ever happen.  

    I dunno.  Something like that.

  3. It was 1940 and the Tacoma Narrows bridge. It wasn't thermal expansion though, it was being blown up and down like a sail in the very high winds. The videos are based on film taken at the time when people complained about the roadway bouncing.
