  1. Posse Commitatis. It mandates that military can not be used as a civilian police force. Primarily designed to prevent military coupes, and the general public from being subjected to harsh military doctrine.

    It is also the doctrine that allows the Sheriff to deputize a posse when more people are needed to maintain order or catch a criminal, in lieu of using the military.
