I see them all the time in Texas, usually pulled behind a Case tractor or some other heavy duty tractor. The piece of equipment has huge wheels and I believe it must just scrap down into the ground as I do not believe the equipment is powered in any way (other than the tractor's kinetic energy as it is pulled). No pto shift, nothing. It looks like some sort of trailer but it digs ponds and spreads dirt.

  1. A TRACTOR lol

  2. welll digger

  3. A scoop? We use bob-cats to dig our pools in Australia.

  4. shovel?

  5. Listen to Justin, "pull scraper", as opposed to a self propelled one called simply a "scraper". Some even have a dual engine design and all have push point in the back so tracked bull dozer's can lend a hand when the going gets tough.  RScott

  6. Yes, it is a pull scraper and the ones you see in Texas are attached to the tractor (in additon to the drawbar, of course) with cables that are used to raise and lower the pan and to control the "crowd" which is the sliding gate that pushes the dirt out.  There is also a gate in front that holds the material in until the operator is ready to dump it.  The weight of the pan is what causes it to dig.  Sometimes these controls are hydraulic.

  9. dirt pans

  10. backhoe?
