  1. Maybe you're thinking of Spinosaurus? As seen on the movie, Jurassic Park 3. It was discovered in northern Africa.

  2. Komodo Dragon , its too dangerous dear....never go near to him...hope it will help you...

  3. I think that your thinking of the Malaysian Sailfin Lizard, which isn't in Africa but in Southeast Asia.

You could also be thinking about the basilisk, known for it's fins along the back.  The basilisk is named after the mythological creature, lives in Latin America, and can run on water for short distances.

The komodo dragon isn't in Africa either, it lives on a couple of the islands of Indonesia in the southwest Pacific.

  4. Africa has no lizards with fins on their backs. The closest we come is the monitors, the Varanus species. The only lizards of which I know that have spines are iguanas, which you will find in South America and in Eastern countries.
