There seem to be a lot of places in Germany called Munster and a lot of train stations there with that name too! Just trying to figure out which is the right one... I was messing on www.bahn.de but only managed to uncover a list of about 20 stations with the name in it! Thanks for any help ye can give me

  1. Unfortunately, you will not be able to differentiate cities by train station name - most cities call them the Hauptbahnhof (central station). Your best bet is to get a map and figure out logically which town is meant by how long it takes to get there and by the Land it is located in.

  2. Munster is in the state Nordrhein-Westfalen and Celle is in state Niedersachsen. They both big cities so have also big train stations. If you also looking traveling with the ICE train, the ICE train is not stopping at the little towns.

  3. Dude, I know the answer!!!

So, I went to Bahn.de myself and noticed that if you enter m-u-n-s-t-e-r you get a confusing result, but if you enter "muenster" you get the town you're looking for. You see, in German you would have the umlaut in place of the "ue" in "muenster". But non-German keyboards don't have umlauts.

So, type in "muenster" and you will get the town you're looking for, also known by the Bahn as "Münster(Westf)Hbf"

The "(Westf)" means it's in the region of Westphalia, in the state of North Rhine Westphalia.

    Alright!
