The name of the owner was Charles Howard, Buick salesman that started Buick's dealerships in California. He was wealthy. The jockey was Red Pollard. He was from Canada and started basically from nothing. He rode at bushtracks before starting at the big tracks. (In the famous match race, with War Admiral and Seabiscuit, George Woolf rode in place of Red Pollard, who broke his leg earlier) The trainer was Tom Smith. He was a great trainer that knew how the horse was. Seabiscuit won many big races, including the 1940 Santa Anita Handicap, and the match race with War Admiral. The movie was great! It is based off the book, Seabiscuit: An American Legend. The book is very good too!
