¨When yoiu are looking at a map of France, the West (left) is the Atlantic Ocean (at the Southern Coast, the Bay of Biscay and at the Northern Coast, the English Channel)  On the East (right) is the Mediterranean Sea.

Sue and Ausdingo are correct.  Look at a map of Europe.  You can clearly see that France is land locked on the right.  I wouldn't repeat that question out loud because you may get laughed at.

Left of France is the Atlantic ocean...there isn't a sea to the right....Mediterranean sea is to the south and English Channel is to the north...with North sea to the north west
