What is the name of the snowman creature in Star Wars V?

The Creature that attacks Luke at the beginning of the movie, and that we see eating his Tom Tom in a later scene.

The creature you refer to is the wampa.  And the beast of burden used for transportation is the tauntaun.

It's called a WAMPA and the creatures Luke and Han rode were TUANTUANs not Tom toms. Just so you know I am not a Star Wars geek I found the answer on Wikipedia.
