it's this dance called the sugar plum fairy and those sounds come from this instrument which looks like a oven

Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy, and the bell-like instrument is correctly called a Celeste, or Celesta.  It has a keyboard like a piano, but instead of the hammers hitting strings, they hit tuned resonaters.

The food and candy is because Clara enters the Kindgom of Sweets after traveling through the Pine Forest and meeting the Snow King and Queen (the pas de deux) and snowflakes kindgom.
