What is the name of the successor to the XBOX 360 video game console?

It's got to be well in to R&D at this point- what is the prototype and/or planned formal name?

Microsoft has made no official statement to it but some fan sites call it XBOX 720 and some call it XBOX 3. We need to wait longer for a confirmed name.

By the way, don't expect a new xbox console right at the corner. It won't be coming up before 2011 or may be later. Currently Microsoft if busy fixing the issues with its current XBOX 360 and has came up with new chips for Falcon/Jasper.

On the whole, a brilliant console with great games but also with some freaking issues.

well currently its jsut refred to as "720", but don't forget the Wii was Revolution(n GO for a bit) before it got its final name of Wii, so things cna change, heck 360 was jsut Xbox 2 for a whiel too.

n why would it be well in R&D by now? there still trying to develop new chips to solve RROD, such as teh Falcon chip nstuff like that, considering it wont be out for many many years yet doing R&D now menas it will miss out on future tech, ie it was a year out ahead of PS3 so still has DVD drive n only 3 cores, PS3 got 8 cores n Blu-Ray, 360 had to get HD-DVD as a second thought add-on. consoles take a while to develop, but the only way they can surviuve having 10 year life with no hardware upgrades is to have the cutting edge tech form its rrelease so doing R&D to sson would kill it.
