  1. wireless adapter, wireless card?

  2. It is refered to as the adapter.  It can be in one of 3 forms: USB, PCI, or PCMCIA.  Unless you have an old laptop, most laptops have built in wifi.  USB is the simplest card to install.  PCMCIA works great for laptops and is no hard to install than USB, but it only works for laptops.

  3. A wireless adapter

  4. A wireless card?

  5. network adaptor $20 at overstock

  6. A wireless card? It's always a card, whether it's PCI, PCMCIA or Mini PCI xD. Or a dongle in USB form.

For a PC you'd need a USB WIFI dongle or a PCI Wireless Card, both probably very cheap now.
