They are on stilts and are extremely traditional. I need to know for my report on Aviles (not Avila), Spain

I think the name you´re looking for is "Palloza" or maybe "Hórreo", two words used in north of Spain to name typical small houses, built in villages to store things or just to eat inside.

Can you expand upon your question?  I'm trying to do your research for you, but I have no idea what you are looking for.  Houses there, as far as I can tell, are called Casas, and are much like any place else.
