If there is also a board to put your tiles on, then it's probably Scrabble.

There are other games that you can play that are similar to Scrabble, some of which have been mentioned already.

Boggle uses 16 cubic dice with letters on them.  See my link below for that, I don't think that's they one your mean, since you mentioned only 7 letters, which is what Scrabble starts with.
