The anime is called Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight!

And as far as I know, nothing has been made beyond the 12 episodes and OVAs of Ichigo Mashimaro. Maybe what you heard wasn't literally about a new version. More like "pink is the new black" or something, praising a different series.
