What is the name of this bird?

When I was at my back yard, the bird came.

He was playing with my garden tools and he tried to enter my house.

  1. This is a Yellow-billed Magpie..but unless you live in California..this most likely is an escaped pet. This is why it may be so acclaimated to humans The only place in the US these birds occur naturally is in California.

  2. a yellow-billed magpie

  3. It is a:

    yellow-billed magpie.

They're fun! =)  Be careful with your trash though--they like to tear open bags.  Always keep it in a can with the lid tightly attached--otherwise you'll have a little magpie-clan!

    Hope that helps!! =)

    **update**

    Annabell --  it *is* a magpie. ;)  Good eye!  It just isn't a 'regular/ordinary'  run-of-the-mill magpie.  It's a yellow-billed magpie.

~~ If you talk to it often enough, and don't make sudden movements, eventually it will let you get close enough to pet it...just make sure you wash your hands after each 'handling' of the bird.  They're wild and could be carrying disease(s).

  4. that is a VERY beautiful bird

i am not sure but it reminds me of a magpie except that magpies dont have such a long tail and no white patches

you are incredibly lucky to have seen it live

    so pretty

perhaps it was someone's pet bird that escaped?

    look at the beak

  5. LET THAT BIRD IN IT HAS A BAND ON ITS LEG meaning it got away from someone and is likely used to poeple LET IT IN YOUR HOUSE! It is valuable but I do not know what breed it is. It has a band on its leg so it was owned by people before please let it in and feed it if you have to. Put bird food out for it all the time until you can get it into your house. It very well could be worth a huge reward if the owners are out looking for it! Or if no one claims it, it could still be worth alot of money and be a very valuable bird.

  6. darkknight.

or something with a black or dark name on it.....i guess...lol
