What kind of attorney deals with prosecuting a person for child neglect/abuse?

Are there any great colleges in California, Pennsylvania, or the Washington D.C area for this? Info please...

  1. It's a prosecutor, often called an assistant district attorney, unless, of course, you're the (usually elected) district attorney himself or herself. These are almost state issues, not federal ones, although there are some exceptions typically based upon alleged crime site.

There are several good schools in those states, but, really, invest in one of those books or websites that deals with comparative law schools.

This is tough work. The 8x10 color photos alone will cause you to tumble into bewildering depression. The welts on the little backs and buttocks will tear your heart out. Rhetorically, how can people do this to anyone, let alone children? Good luck.

  2. Prosecutors don't specialize in specific laws.

Edit: I don't think you really need the best law school to become a prosecutor, but here's the top 50 law schools in California, Pennsylvania, and D.C. according to http://www.top-law-schools.com/rankings....

    4. Stanford

    6. UC Berkley

    7. Penn

    14. Georgetown

    16. UCLA

    18. USC

    20. George Washington

    44. UC Davis

That's in the top 50, you can go through 51-100 yourself.

  3. I would say that attorney is called a prosecutor

A prosecutor is an attorney who goes after people who break the law

  4. Child Abuse Attorneys

  5. Usually its the D.A. (District Attorney) office that prosecutes on behalf of the local, state, or federal government. Since this is dealing with children you may want to look into family law.
